Private Lesson – LTC Range Proficiency
A private lesson for LTC Range Proficiency provides one-on-one training to finish the requirements for the Online LTC Range Instruction and Handgun Proficiency Demonstration. You must bring your HANDGUN TRAINING CERTIFICATE (Form LTC-104) showing that you have completed Classroom Instruction. (Need to complete the classroom portion? You can do so at Shady Oaks OnlineTexasLTC or with any approved provider.)
Prerequisites
This is not a beginner handgun class. You must:
- Have completed the online classroom portion of the Online LTC course
- Be able to operate your firearm independently
Range Qualification
The range qualification will follow the official Texas DPS LTC course of fire.
- Requires a total of 50 rounds between 3 yards – 15 yards.
- While 9mm is the most common caliber, .22LR is also acceptable
- Red dots allowed; no magnified optics per DPS rules
- One magazine is enough, but two is better (not required)
- Ammo loaders are permitted
For TWO People Completing the ONLINE LTC Together
- Book two consecutive “LTC Range Only” sessions with the same instructor. (This will make sure you get booked with a LTC Instructor.)
- You’ll complete the classroom portion together.
- The range qualification is completed one person at a time, as the facility only allows one student and one instructor on the range during qualification.
- While the first person is on the range, the second person can wait in the classroom or pro shop, then you’ll switch.
Pricing
- Individual LTC Range Qual for One person is $100 and scheduled for 75 minutes.
- Two-person shared LTC Range Qual is a total of $160 total and scheduled for 2 hours. The discount will be applied when you arrive and pay in person.
- These prices do not include tax.
